I remember when the only noticeable neon in town was the Domino’s Sugar sign. Everything else was bathed in the glow of halogen streetlights, an orange halo rising into the heavens.
Now? Everything is glowing with bright greens and hot pinks. Orange is merely an accent color. The one thing this has in common with the old Baltimore is how ineffective the lights are. You can make out shadows moving around the dim lights, small creatures and large men scavenging in the dark corners for a crumb of bread or a fix.
